Heaps Decent is an Australian organisation empowering young people through skills building, cultural access and creativity.

Working with underrepresented and marginalised youth, our participatory program of music and visual media activities provides a pathway to discovery, personal growth and agency through self-expression.

Back in May the Heaps Decent crew gathered together at Fraser Studios to showcase all of the hard work our young artists have put in every week at the Home Base studios in Redfern. The event was a huge success, with an audience full of friends and family being treated to an amazing display of talent and a sneak peek at some upcoming material that we have been releasing over the past few months.

As well as a crowd full of supporters, we had some incredibly creative individuals lending us their talents for the occasion. Ana Jimenez was one of them, and she kindly filmed all of the performances for us throughout the afternoon. Many of you already recognise the track playing over this video – Big H’s ‘Domestic Violence’ (view the video for it here) – which was performed at the showcase and currently features on Triple J’s Unearthed.

Check out the video to see what went on and stay tuned for more showcases in the future!
