Beat Making & Electronic Music Production Workshop

1.5 hrs. Up to 16 participants (please complete an enquiry form in Book a Workshop section to receive a quote)

Music making that is accessible & relevant to everyone.

In this inspiring hands on workshop participants will work with a professional music producer to write and record an original song of their own. Using Ableton Live software, Native Instruments Maschine Mikro stations, MIDI keyboards and a range of other tools participants explore technology and an incredible library of sound to compose their own unique work. They write and record lyrics, tap out rhythms and orchestrate big melodies. From Hip Hop to Dance (and anything in between) this medium truly resonates with people of all ages, and they do not need any musical experience or skills to engage fully. The workshop is a great way to encourage creative communication and confidence, and inspire positivity and team building within groups. It brings together auditory and kinaesthetic learning in an exciting session.

The workshop includes 2 x facilitators and mobile production studio set-ups.

DJ-ing Workshop

1.5 hrs. Up to 16 participants (please complete an enquiry form in Book a Workshop section to receive a quote)

This workshop is a great way into music for any participant. In this session they can use the music they love and connect with to start to understand some of the elements that are used to great effect in production. The decks are an instrument unto themselves, allowing the user to manipulate mixes, tempo and pitch, and to use a range of effects like sampling, looping and scratching. Participants can discover how elemental and shared musical instincts are, and be introduced to a range of techniques that are used to create a great atmosphere and uplift the human spirit with music.

Includes a facilitator and DJ set up.

Digital Sculptures and Augmented Reality Workshop

1.5 hrs. Up to 8 participants (please complete an enquiry form in Book a Workshop section to receive a quote)

This visual workshop brings together traditional media and current technology to transform space. Participants use their imagination to conjure up objects in response to a theme. Using coloured modelling clay they sculpt shapes and images, which are then 3D scanned and ported to augmented reality. Their sculptures can appear anywhere using a phone app, bringing them to life in the surrounding environment, and changing the notion of traditional viewing spaces. Participants experiment with the possibilities for temporarily changing, commenting on, or interrupting their surroundings.

Includes a facilitator, equipment and materials
