Parklife 2012 workshops

August 21, 2012

With festival season fast approaching, we thought we’d take a look back at some of the incredible artists that have donated time outside of their busy touring schedules to come into the Heaps Decent studios and share their technical skills and words of wisdom.

Last year’s Parklife saw the return of world-famous DJ A-Trak to our weekly workshops at Home Base, offering up a wealth of knowledge and reuniting with local MC Icey to collaborate in the studio.

Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li also joined in on the fun at Juniperina Juvenile Justice Centre, encouraging our young female artists to get behind the mic and croon along with Lykke and her backup singer Zhala – we even got to hear some pretty impressive raps too!

In January this year we were again treated to a host of famous faces when not one but FIVE international acts joined us at Home Base – 12th Planet, Devlin & Ghostdad from the US and 2-piece Jack Beats from the UK! All in town for Field Day, the crew spent a whole day with us engineering, crafting beats and performing alongside our artists.

All of the guest appearances at our workshops have been a great success so far and have really helped to nurture and encourage the growth our artists. With Parklife right around the corner, expect to see a brand new bunch of international acts arrive at our studios all thanks to our benefactors, Fuzzy!
