ABOUT HEAPS DECENT

Heaps Decent is an arts organisation empowering children and young people to express their creativity through music and multi-media. We support engagement for change, positive futures  & the development of high quality content with a unique identity.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE: MULTI-MEDIA FACILITATOR (CASUAL)

We are seeking Sydney based multi-media artists to join a pool of casual workshop leaders. Desirable candidates may be experienced in public art, mural creation, VR/AR technology, or digital art including animation. We encourage applicants skilled in several visual mediums.

Our multi-media workshops are delivered to diverse young people across NSW – including in Youth Justice, community centres, primary & high schools, specialist school settings, refuges and more. Our workshop participants can have a range of complex personal challenges so it is essential that our facilitators have a high level of patience and understanding.

Our regular program is delivered across the Greater Sydney area. Other workshops are carried out over 3-5 day trips to regional & remote NSW.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering engaging workshops with young people of varied ages, levels of experience/ability
  • Collaborating to create high quality completed artworks in a timely manner
  • Completing workshop records and reports
  • Creating an inclusive workshop environment

 

Requirements

  • Must have their own laptop for digital workshops (other gear supplied depending on workshop, e.g. VR headsets, iPads, drawing tablets, cameras, fine art materials)
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Experience in working with children and young people
  • Punctual and reliable

 

Relevant skills:

  • High level of skill in various areas of visual media
  • Fast with preferred mediums
  • Workshop leading or teaching experience.
