Heaps Decent is an Australian organisation empowering young people through skills building, cultural access and creativity.
Working with underrepresented and marginalised youth, our participatory program of music and visual media activities provides a pathway to discovery, personal growth and agency through self-expression.Heaps Decent has been running projects at Lomandra School and other specialised school providers in Campbelltown since 2010. In 2015, with the assistance of the NSW Department of Education and Communities and the Links to Learning Program, we increased activity with weekly visits throughout the year. This saw students working with our musicians and producers, in addition to visual media artists, to create a whole lot of legendary new material as they worked toward a showing at the end of the year.
At the end of 2016 we wound up the Links to Learning Project, and now work with Lomandra, and other specialised learning settings on a casual project basis.
