Miranda Skoczek

Born in Melbourne in 1977, Miranda Skoczek is an Australian artist who graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2004. Skoczek has exhibited her paintings internationally, and extensively throughout Australia in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
She unashamedly delights in creating pictures which are joyous and celebratory, focusing on pure process, and blurring the lines between abstraction, representation and the painterly.
Softly rendered marks accompany bold and graphic shapes, her canvasses are immersive – engaging the viewer both physically and emotionally – allowing an escape into a world of pure fantasy, opulence and the sublime. She seeks to create sanctuaries for the self.
Skoczek’s practice has seen paintings acquired by numerous local and international collectors, Artbank and countless sell out shows in her 15 years as an exhibiting artist.
Miranda resides in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, with her son Harper Atticus.
