VIDEO: JUMP OFF THE BRIDGE!

July 4, 2013

Last week Heaps Decent visited Wilcannia for the second time this year. The usual suspects Adam Bozzetto and Kristy Lee were in attendance as well as me. This was my first trip to Wilcannia and was an amazing experience. We flew out of Sydney bright and early Monday morning, landing in Broken Hill, where we stocked up on food for our time in Wilcannia. We made the 2 hour drive and went straight into writing some hits at Wings Drop in Centre. Kristy jumped behind a camera and put together a little film clip for one of these soon to be chart toppers.

The next day we headed to St Therese’s Community School where we worked with some of the coolest kids I’ve ever met. Writing songs about different modes of transportation, with some second graders and another about the months of the year with the kindies. We wrapped up the day with another visit to Wings, where more beats were made and Boz showed everyone the RIGHT way to dance to Speak No Americano.

Our final day of the trip was spent with St Therese’s first graders, who told us all about the river that runs through Wilcannia, putting all their knowledge into a cool little song. It was back into the car for the drive back to Broken Hill, flying back to Sydney that afternoon.

This trip was another great success for Heaps Decent, really engaging with the local community in Wilcannia and writing some great songs along the way!
